Every engagement is led directly by our founder. As scope requires, we bring in senior specialists from a carefully vetted network of life sciences branding professionals — strategists, designers, medical illustrators, and verbal identity experts — each with deep experience in the space. No junior staff. No overhead passed along. Just the right people, assembled for the right project.
Lee Scott founded Vicar & Lay after thirty years at the intersection of science and brand, watching brilliant science consistently undermined by the brand that was supposed to carry it. He has led creative strategy and brand identity work across many major therapeutic categories, contributing to global launches, LOE strategies, and pipeline programs for clients including Novartis, GSK, Genzyme, Biogen, Merck, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer, across agency networks including IPG, Syneos, Havas, Omnicom, and Danforth Health.
What sets Lee apart from agency creative directors is the strategic throughline that has run alongside that work from the start: contributing to brand planning, co-developing creative briefs from primary research through message hierarchy, and working directly alongside chief strategy officers on some of the industry’s most recognized brands. At Vicar & Lay, that combination—thirty years of life sciences creative fluency and a strategist's understanding of what brand needs to do at every inflection point—is the product.
